Tudor
During the 1920s, many Tudor-style homes were built in Texas. These homes often have steep-pitched roofs, gables, and stylish chimneys. They also fulfill the need to rest and relax with large front porches. Their half-timbered walls add charm that many Texans appreciate.

Asymmetrical layouts, elaborate stone, and landscaping, and brick walls are a few signature traits of the Tudor home. Gable roofs, detailed doorways, and chimneys are also indicative of the Tudor style.

The traditional style usually carries into the interiors as well. Extensive woodwork including wall paneling and ceiling beams) was typical in the original Tudor homes built in the early 1900s. These were expensive homes to make, so you'll typically find them in areas considered affluent city suburbs at that time, which is now likely considered in-town.
